The e-sports event “VALORANT FNX CHAMPION SHIP” will be held on January 31 at eSPORTS ARENA KOBE Sannomiya, an e-sports facility on the 9th floor of Joshin Sannomiya 1 Bankan (3 Yawata-dori, Chuo-ku, Kobe City).

The event will be planned and managed by the first students of the “esports engineering department,” which was newly established last April at Kobe Electronics College (1 Kitano-machi, Chuo-ku, Kobe City). The students’ desire to “run their own event in a real e-sports arena” in their daily classes led to an industry-university collaboration with Kamishin Denki, a large electronics retail store that operates the facility, which was realized in July of last year.
The facility is equipped for a maximum of five-player matches, and online simultaneous matches are possible through collaboration with e-sports facilities in Japan. A racing simulator will be permanently installed to support e-motorsports, and there will be seating for up to 170 spectators. The facility, which has a track record of hosting many events, will provide the arena and facilities to students in order to “revitalize the local community of Kobe” and “develop human resources who will lead the e-sports industry in the future.
On the day of the event, students will present their plans for “VALORANT,” a first-person shooting game that won the top vote in the planning and presentation class.
The students who will plan and manage the event are enthusiastic, saying, “We want more people to know about e-sports events, which are still a new learning experience, and we want to make Kobe a city where many e-sports enthusiasts gather.
The event will be held from 16:00 to 18:00.
