Hare ma”, a burger store located a 2-minute walk from Hanshin Mikage Station, had its grand opening on February 1.
Next to the entrance is the store name taken over from his grandfather.
The store, carefully renovated from a 100-year-old two-story row house, has a retro-modern design. There are two types of seating, counter and table, and sunlight pours in through a window overlooking the courtyard in the back, creating a nice, bright space.
The patties for the main hamburger are carefully trimmed of fat and sinew from a block of beef and hand-chopped with a knife to a very coarse chop, making them meaty and juicy!
The patties are juicy and meaty, and while they are full of meaty flavor, they are relatively clean because they are lean meat.
They also show on Instagram how they worked on developing 30 different menu items under the title of “30-Day Burger Challenge,” and we can’t wait to see how they arrange them!
Other menu items are available throughout the day, including morning breakfast in the morning and coffee and sweets in the evening.
In March of last year, the owner, Mr. Majima’s grandfather closed down his egg wholesale business, which had continued for 68 years since his great-grandfather’s generation. Mr. Majima wanted to carry on the history of the business, so he took over the name of the store, “Majima Shoten.
He named the store “Hare ma” (=Harema) with the hope of “creating a space where people can feel a little more cheerful and bright in their busy days,” and also incorporated the “ma” of Majima into the store name.

On the second floor of the tenement house, “Yadoma,” an overnight stay-style inn for only two couples per day, is also scheduled to open. Mikagego, one of the most famous sake breweries in Japan, is nearby, so guests can use the inn as a base for going out to drink sake in the evenings or enjoying an evening drink in the room. We look forward to seeing you there, too! <
I am very much looking forward to the 100% beef patty full of meaty flavor and the arrangements that have been developed and challenged over the years.
