The 17th Hyogo Prefecture Jigiku Sports Festival for the Disabled will be held from May 4 to 28. Applications are now being accepted and must arrive no later than February 20.

The sports event is open to people with physical, intellectual, and mental disabilities, and 13 events will be held, including track and field, table tennis, swimming, volleyball, bowling, flying disc, and soccer.

The purpose of this event is to help people with disabilities in the prefecture maintain and improve their physical fitness and motivation to participate in society through sports, as well as to deepen the understanding and awareness of people with disabilities in the prefecture and to expand exchanges among them.

The venues will vary according to the sporting events, and will be held at five sports-related facilities in Kobe and Miki cities.
The event also serves as a prefectural qualifier for the “Burning Emotions Kagoshima” National Sports Festival for Persons with Disabilities.
