The Akashi Kaikyo Bridge Marine Walk, an event commemorating the 25th anniversary of the opening of the Kobe-Awaji Naruto Expressway, will be held on March 18 and 19. Participants are currently being recruited.
The Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, which is normally inaccessible, will be open for two days only, and participants will walk across the bridge from Kobe Maiko to Awaji Island, a distance of about 4 km. Visitors can enjoy the magnificent view of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge from a different perspective.
Controlled path
On the day of the event, participants depart from the “Bridge Science Museum” (Tarumi Ward, Kobe City). After putting on the helmets distributed at the anchorage (bridge abutment), move to the “Administration Passage” and start the ocean walk! While enjoying the spectacular view of the Seto Inland Sea from a height of about 40 meters, visitors will aim for the goal point, the anchorage on the Awaji side.
From the goal point, a free shuttle bus will take you to Iwaya Port and Awaji Yumebutai bus stop on the Jenova Line, so you can return home safely.
Akashi Kaikyo Bridge <A word from the reporter:
The road surface of the “control passage” is mesh-like, so you can see the surface of the sea under your feet…! It is a thrilling experience.
The “Akashi Kaikyo Bridge and Onaruto Bridge 2 Bridges Walk” is also planned, which can be combined with the “Onaruto Bridge Uzushio Walk” held on the same day, so those with strong legs should definitely participate.
