On November 1, 2022, “Ghibli Park,” a park facility expressing the world of Studio Ghibli’s works, opened in “Expo 2005 Aichi Prefecture Memorial Park” in Nagakute City, Aichi Prefecture.
This exhibition looks back at the work of Goro Miyazaki, the director in charge of the Ghibli Park production site, and introduces how he thinks, draws, and creates Ghibli Park, along with a number of production documents that are being exhibited for the first time.
In addition, the “Nise Director’s Room” in the main area of Ghibli Park, “Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse,” will be exhibited in an exhibition version.
Visitors can see Yubaba, who appears in the movie “Spirited Away,” at work in her office.
Also on display is a 1/5 scale model of “Satsuki and May’s House” and a pergola (a lattice-shaped sunshade shelf) that was actually used in the house. In addition, a scene from the movie “Spirited Away” will be reproduced in the “Ghibli’s Famous Scenes” exhibit.
In addition, the Cat Bus, familiar from the movie “My Neighbor Totoro,” is available for children and adults to ride, inviting visitors into the world of Ghibli’s works. <A word from the reporter:
The world of Ghibli, loved by children and adults alike, can be experienced at this large-scale exhibition in Kobe! It is exciting to know that famous scenes from movies that everyone has seen have been recreated! This exhibition will surely make you want to visit Ghibli Park, too!
