Awajiya, a bento box lunch box company headquartered in Higashinada-ku, Kobe, is offering a limited time only “Hinamatsuri (Girls’ Day) version of Hippippari-dako-meshi (octopus rice)”. It is now on sale at Awajiya stores.
The “Hinamatsuri Version Hippippippadako Meshi” was planned and sold last year with the idea of “giving the Corona disaster something fun to talk about” and was very popular.
The “Hinamatsuri Version Hippippippippadako Meshi” is a spring-like dish that includes the well-known “deliciously simmered cod roe”, “clam stew” using clams, an ingredient that appears on the Girls’ Festival as a symbol of a good marriage, and a cute three-color fish paste that looks like a dumpling. The hanging paper has an illustration of an octopus arranged in the style of “male and female hina dolls,” making it a lovely dish to look at. <
A cute springtime-inspired rice dish with a paper wrapper is now available♪ It would make a great gift or souvenir as well as a bento. It is also a handsome addition to a Hinamatsuri party dish
