Organized by Southern Mall Rokko, a Koizumi Seima Group company, the festival will be held on July 22 and 23. The event was planned as a casual event to attract students and other young people to the facility.
In addition to a total of 22 booths over the two days, including mini-bowling, yo-yo fishing, super-ball scooping, die-cutting, and other stall games, as well as restaurants and general merchandise stores, there will also be science experiment workshops such as making bath salts and slime to encourage free research during the summer holidays.
As extracurricular classes from Kobe-based vocational schools, there will be a mini live stage by students of Kobe Koyo Music Dance & Art High School and a corner where students of Kobe Belle Belle Beauty School will practice skills they have learned, such as hair arrangement and make-up application.
During the period, visitors in kimono will also be able to receive special offers at participating stores.
Ms. Izumi Katayama of the Commercial Facilities Development and Operation Division said, “We aim to create an event that can be enjoyed by small children as well as students and adults, and will include a Showa-era retro food stall and booths in collaboration with vocational school students and industry-academia. There will also be a portrait photo booth, so we hope people will come dressed in yukata, jinbei, and other traditional Japanese clothing to enjoy the shopping and the summer festival event,” she said.
The event will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
