The exhibition “Super Colored Pencil Art: 12 Artists’ Coloring Styles” will be held at Kobe Fashion Museum (Higashinada-ku, Kobe) from September 9 (Sat) to November 5 (Sun).
Haru Otoumi, Transparent, 2020.
This event features art works using colored pencils, a fun and easy-to-use drawing medium for people of all ages and genders. About 120 works by 12 of Japan’s leading colored pencil artists will be on display, depicting animals, landscapes, flowers, food, and more.
Kaoru Muramatsu, Roses are pink, 2017.
The works depict the cuteness of cats and dogs, and the beauty of flowers and landscapes. The colorful works, drawn in a unique style, are truly “divine” works that are hard to believe that they were created with colored pencils. The organizer hopes that visitors will enjoy the world of “colored pencil art,” which can only be enjoyed by those who have experienced it before.
Miyagawa, Jam Toast, 2022 <A word from the reporter>
I used to doodle a lot with colored pencils in the past, but I use them much less these days. The works on display will make you dream of drawing something with colored pencils yourself!
