On July 22, Awajiya, a bento box lunch box shop based in Higashinada-ku, Kobe, launched a new line of “Hippippuridako flowerpots” featuring the famous “Hippuridako Meshi (pulled octopus rice)” from Nishiakashi Station.
Hippippirdako flowerpot” 1 set, 1,680 yen (tax included)
Awajiya’s signature “Hippippittadako Rice” goods, such as the “Hippittadako Lid” and “Hippittadako Coffee Cup,” are so popular that each time a new product is released, it becomes a topic of conversation. Many people ask, “What’s next?” The new products are always a hot topic of conversation.
The new “Hittappidako flowerpot” is made of unglazed terra-cotta, keeping the same ceramic design of the Hittappidako Rice series. A round hole is drilled in the bottom of the pot and a groove is placed in the bottom to improve water drainage. The set also includes a saucer with a wave-shaped design, inspired by the image of an octopus pot floating among the waves. It is about the size of a standard flowerpot (No. 3-4).
Pre-sales began at Awajiya’s online store on July 22, and may be available at the new store scheduled to open in Sannomiya Center-gai in late July!
<A word from the reporter>
For some reason, I find myself irresistibly drawn to “hittari dakko” goods. They are unique goods that make you smile every time you see them in your daily life. Just thinking about it is exciting!
