The company has been selling a variety of goods based on feedback from regular customers, including a “Hippuridako lid” that fits the octopus jar-style container for “Hippuridako-meshi,” a “Hippuridako choko,” a smaller version of the container, and a “Hippuridako coffee cup,” among others.
The “Hippuridako no Tokkuri” (sake cup), which went on sale last year, has been selling well, and many customers have asked “What’s next? The company has been receiving many inquiries from customers asking about the next product.
Yuki Yanagimoto, vice president of the company, said, “Actually, we have been working on this flowerpot under the radar. We have finally completed it and are able to show it off,” smiles Yuki Yanagimoto, vice president.
The “Hittaridako flowerpot” is a new terra-cotta flowerpot that retains the design of the octopus pot-style container, but is made of a different type of terra-cotta (unglazed). The bottom of the jar has a round hole and a groove in the bottom to improve drainage. The set’s saucer was designed in a wave shape to resemble an octopus jar floating on the waves.
The jar is approximately 11 cm in height and diameter with an 8 cm opening, and the saucer is approximately 3 cm in height and 14 cm in diameter, about the size of a typical flowerpot No. 3 or 4. Priced at 1,680 yen per set. The product will be sold through the company’s online store (there is a limit to the number of applications per day).
Mr. Yanagimoto commented, “The timing is just right for the start of summer vacation, so these new goods are perfect for children’s free research during summer vacation. We are planning to sell them at our new store in Sannomiya Center-gai, which is scheduled to open in late July,” he said.
