The exhibition is about Momoko Sakura, a manga artist, essayist, lyricist, and screenwriter, whose national manga “Chibimaruko-chan” was first serialized in 1986 and made into an anime in 1990, and has been loved by adults and children alike. Her debut essay “Momo no Kanzume” became a huge bestseller, selling over 2.5 million copies in 1991.
At the exhibition, Momoko Sakura’s life and works are displayed in different sections. The exhibition features approximately 300 original color drawings and handwritten manuscripts.

In addition to the “Until Momoko Sakura is Born,” which traces the time leading up to her debut as a manga artist with illustrations of her personal belongings and scenes from her childhood, there is also “Momo to Chibi Maruko-chan,” which introduces “Chibi Maruko-chan”; “Momoko’s Everyday Life,” which explores Momoko Sakura’s daily life that she cherished; and “Momo to Kozhikoji,” a story about an unidentifiable space child, “Kozhikoji,” and “Momo to Kozhikoji. Momoko and KOJIKOJI,” which explores Momoko Sakura’s cherished daily life, and “Momoko and KOJIKOJI,” about the unidentified space child KOJIKOJI.

During the exhibition period, a related event will be held in which visitors can read Momoko Sakura’s book “Momoko’s Illustrated Book of Living Things” and draw pictures and episodes of their own memorable living things. The number of participants is limited to 20 people, and advance registration is required. <A word from the reporter:
It is nice to see not only Chibimaruko-chan, but also various essays and exhibits about the characters! I could spend hours looking at them.
