Mikage Open Marché” will be held on October 27 and 28 at the cafe “MAMEHICO Kobe Mikage” (Mikage Yamate 1, Higashinada-ku, Kobe City).
Shigemasa Watanabe, the owner of MAMEHICO, who has been holding music-related events since its reopening in February, organized this event for the first time in order to “create a place where local residents, regular customers, and everyone else can interact together.
Local foods and processed foods will be sold, and workshops such as talk shows, piano performances, and storytelling will be held. Food items for sale include tofu, vegetables, cakes made from farm cheese, rice flour baked goods, bread, and matsutake rice, as well as beet smoothies and craft beer. Workshops include stencil dyeing, portrait painting, bag and wreath making, coffee tasting, photography by professional photographers, health counseling, walking tours of local shrines, and discussions with invited guests.
Mr. Watanabe said, “We were able to create the event together with the help of our regulars, who helped us find stalls and publicize the event. We hope to convey the charm of the area and link it to the future,” he says.
The event will be held from 10:00 to 18:00. Reservations are not required for the workshops, which are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
