VOCA Exhibition: Prospects of Contemporary Art – New Flat Artists Harada no Mori, Kobe

VOCA 30 YEARS STORY / KOBE exhibition is being held at Kobe Harada no Mori Gallery (Nada-ku, Kobe) from March 9 to 25.

Launched in 1994, the VOCA Exhibition is an annual art exhibition organized by the VOCA Exhibition Executive Committee and the Ueno Royal Museum with the aim of supporting promising young artists with high potential for international success in the fields of painting, photography, and other two-dimensional art. The exhibition marks the 30th anniversary of the VOCA Exhibition, and is a commemorative exhibition of 30 works that have received successive VOCA Prizes all at once.
Each exhibition introduces artists under the age of 40 recommended by museum curators, researchers, and others nationwide who have researched many artists. 1,013 artists participated in this exhibition for “VOCA Exhibition 2023. The “VOCA Exhibition 2023” has produced many leading figures in the current art world.
This exhibition will be the first time that all VOCA award-winning works will be presented together at a venue outside of Tokyo. This is a rare opportunity to see the early works of these artists who are now leading the art world.
Artist talks by Takeshi Higashijima (1996 VOCA Award), Miwa Yanagi (1999 VOCA Award), and Saori Miyake (2010 VOCA Award) will also be held on March 25. No application is required. ＜
This is a rare opportunity for art lovers to see the youthful works of well-known artists in Kobe. Through the exhibition, visitors will be able to get a sense of the transition and history of contemporary art works over the past 30 years, as well as the future of the “VOCA Exhibition”.
