Walt Disney Japan, in cooperation with the authorized NPO “National Network for Supporting Children with Intractable Diseases,” provided “Hyogo Prefectural Children’s Hospital” (Chuo Ward, Kobe City) with the first “Children’s Hospital Support Program” in Kansai.
Since 2018, Disney has been delivering the positive power of Disney stories and characters to children in more than 1,300 children’s hospitals and pediatric medical facilities around the world. The Hyogo Children’s Hospital, the fourth location in Japan, offers four programs: “Interactive Wallpaper,” which can be enjoyed in conjunction with the app; “Disney Plus,” an official video delivery service; “Movie Theater,” which delivers Disney stories; and “Staff Badges,” which depict characters and messages. The “Staff Badge” with characters and messages is available.
Wallpaper is placed on two floors: the “Outpatient Area” on the first floor and the “Operating Room Area” on the fourth floor. We have created a space where children can interact with Disney characters and stories in order to relieve their anxiety about unfamiliar hospital life and to make their stay fun and safe.

Some wallpapers feature interactive devices utilizing the “Disney Team of Heroes” entertainment app, and when you hold up your smartphone or tablet with the app activated, you can watch short animations that can only be seen here.

The app also includes a coloring book, quizzes, and other content to make waiting for a doctor’s appointment more fun.
On the 4th floor, where the operating rooms are located, Disney characters welcome children from the “elevator hall. They will help ease the anxious feelings of children who are about to undergo surgery.
Marvel heroes are waiting for children at the entrance of the operating room. They will watch over the children who are about to undergo surgery with their powerful figures.
In the corridor leading to the operating room, visitors can enjoy colorfully designed wallpaper decorated with Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars characters.

And in the operating room area, wallpaper designed with the idea that “Disney characters will be there for children during their most anxious time” will cheer them up.
And at the entrance, a “Mobile Movie Theater” is set up as a place where memories can be made during hospitalization and hospital visits. Visitors can enjoy the latest Disney stories through Disney Plus, Disney’s official video distribution service. Incidentally, this is the second theater to be introduced in Japan.
