From the 2023 school year, the uniforms of all municipal junior high schools in Kobe City will be standardized with the “Kobe Tartan” design! *Some schools are exceptions.
There are a total of four designs and lineups. They can choose pants, skirts, ribbons, ties, and other clothing of their choice for both men and women.
The Kobe Tartan is the symbolic design of the city of Kobe, created in 2017 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the opening of the port of Kobe.
The “Kobe Model” standard uniform introduced here uses Kobe tartan for the tie and ribbon, and the buttons are designed with an “ikari” mark, which is reminiscent of the port city of Kobe.
In 2021, Kobe Municipal Motoyama Junior High School in Higashinada Ward adopted the uniform as its standard uniform, attracting much attention. In 2022, more than half of the children and parents living in the city voted for the adoption of the uniform, and as a result, it was decided to unify the standard uniform for municipal junior high schools starting this school year.
As a result of the vote, it was decided to unify the standard uniforms of municipal junior high schools with the same design starting this school year. <A word from the reporter:
It would be great if local children become even more attached to the city of Kobe through the spread of the standard uniform ^
