EAT LOCAL KOBE FARMERS MARKET, a Saturday morning market where you can enjoy seasonal foods in the city of Kobe, will be held on March 4, 11, and 18.
The farmers’ market, which has been held since its inception, began its journey to the streets of Kobe after the renovation of Higashi-Yuenchi Park, and this time it will come to Higashinada Ward for the first time.
The venue, Yumiganeha Shrine, is a lush green shrine located a 5-minute walk southeast of Hankyu Mikage Station. It is also known as the “God of Soccer” due to the fact that the god’s messenger is “Yatagarasu,” a three-legged crow.
The shrine also has a strong connection with sake, as 3,000 people are served sake on New Year’s Day in the town of Nada Gogo. Two sake breweries will open stalls at this morning market, making it a morning market that is typical of Mikage, a place “famous for sake.
The market is expected to be a “sake specialty area” in Mikage, and although there is a possibility that vegetables will be scarce due to the off-season, many local delicacies will be on display. You can also enjoy a breakfast that gives you a sense of local production for local consumption.
Information on the farmers and stores participating in the market is posted weekly on the official website and SNS. <A word from the reporter>
It’s going to be held in the grounds of a lushly green shrine, and it’s going to feel like a festival! I will definitely try to visit this familiar shrine, where I once went for Hatsumode (New Year’s visit).
