On March 18, “SDGs Day 2023,” a talk event on the theme of sustainable development goals (SDGs), will be held at the plaza in front of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Kobe Headquarters Building in Kobe’s Old Settlement district. Admission and viewing are free.
The event is designed to bring together startups that are taking on the challenge of solving global SDGs issues and the citizens of the prefecture, and will feature presentations by 14 companies participating in the “SDGs Challenge,” a startup support program of Hyogo Prefecture and Kobe City, as well as a panel discussion between students and organizers. Visitors can enjoy performances by the steel pan band “Fantastix” and other performers.
Fourteen startup companies will take the stage, including BABY JOB Corporation, which attempts to solve social issues related to child rearing through diaper subscriptions, and Nousha, which aims to optimize the distribution of agricultural products through the smart commercial distribution system “Todokemono” that connects farmers and consumers.
In addition, Kobe Shushinkan, a Fukuju company known for its sustainable sake brewing, will be present to introduce the efforts of companies in the prefecture, as well as tasting freshly baked baumkuchen from Uheim and “Fukuju Junmai Sake Eco Zero”.
The organizer says, “This is an event to experience, enjoy, and think about the future of various creations through the SDGs efforts of startups, local companies, students, and others. Please feel free to come!” The organizer commented, “Please feel free to visit us! <
There are startups in the prefecture that are taking on challenges that I am interested in, including Diaper Subs, which the author had also seen on SNS!
I would love to hear about their efforts and spirit directly from them.
