On April 4 and 8, “Children’s Book Forest Kobe” in Chuo Ward, Kobe City, will hold an event to celebrate its first anniversary. Advance reservations are required.
Event to Commemorate the First Anniversary!
Children’s Book Forest Kobe” is a cultural facility where visitors can freely interact with a variety of books, including picture books, illustrated books, and foreign language books, regardless of the target age range. The facility was created with a donation from architect Tadao Ando, and its beauty is one of its charms. The facility celebrated its first anniversary this year with two events for children.
How will the city look like when you feel like a bird?
The first event, “Let’s draw the city from the perspective of a bird in the sky,” allows visitors to experience what is called “bird’s-eye view,” a three-dimensional depiction of the city as seen from the perspective of a bird flying high in the sky. Inviting Daisuke Aoyama, a bird’s eye view painter, visitors will actually draw the “Old Settlement” and the “Kenryu Building” on Kaigan Dori.
This is an event where you can casually enjoy a tea ceremony that might otherwise seem a bit intimidating!
The second event, “Let’s Enjoy Nodate in the Book Forest,” is a “tea ceremony for children” planned with the hope that children will casually experience the tea ceremony. This is an opportunity to enjoy tea on a refreshing wooden deck (in case of inclement weather, the event will be held in a multipurpose room in a separate building).
Both events require advance reservations, which will be accepted until March 20. <A word from the reporter>
I thought this event was very stylish, allowing children and adults alike to experience something they haven’t had much chance to do before! Especially the “bird’s eye view” is something I’m really interested in too!
