Press Release (April 17, 2023)

Kobe City has been working to enhance its “seamless child-rearing support” from pregnancy and childbirth through school age.
In order to provide an opportunity for people to learn about these efforts, we have created a video narrated by Keiko Kitagawa, a native of Kobe City who is currently raising a child.
We hope to convey the image of Kobe City as a child-rearing-friendly city not only to those who are raising children, but also to those who are not raising children.

Message from Keiko Kitagawa
To everyone raising children in Kobe
.
My name is Keiko Kitagawa.
I grew up in Kobe.
Kobe is my favorite city where nature spreads out and people have kind smiles on their faces.
It is a beautiful city that has recovered from the Great Hanshin Earthquake.
I am
now raising my children in Tokyo, and
every day I am keenly aware that it takes a lot of power and support
to
raise one person
.
I hope that Kobe will become an even more comfortable place to raise children, and that many children will be able to grow up in a relaxed atmosphere.
I hope that the entire city will watch over and nurture the children who are born here.
May Kobe continue to be a town that can be there for those who are raising children.
I did the narration with these thoughts in mind.
Someday I would like to show my daughter around Kobe.
Let’s all do our best together.
