The 50th Kobe Festival, one of the largest citizen participation events in Kobe City, will be held on May 28!
In addition to the return of the “Festival Parade” with its spectacular samba performances and lively marching band performances, there will also be new events to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the festival.
Past events
The event had been postponed for three consecutive years due to the new coronavirus infection. This historic festival has its roots in the “Minato no Matsuri (Festival of the Minato)” first held in 1933 and the “Kobe Carnival” held in 1967, and since its first holding in 1971, it has been well known to citizens as a festival representing Kobe.

The main event, the “Festival Parade” on Sannomiya Flower Road, will include a “Disney Parade,” and in addition to Japanese drum and jazz performances on stage, there will be a sports experience event, a mobile zoo, and a kids’ park to commemorate the 50th anniversary. Food and drink stalls will also be set up at the exhibition booths.
