On May 5, “2023 Waiwai Street,” an event where children can enjoy playing to the fullest, will be held at Shiawase no Mura in Kobe’s Kita Ward. No advance reservations are required, and participation is free.
The event is organized by Group Wa, a non-profit organization consisting of graduates of Kobe City Silver College, a lifelong learning institution for the elderly located in Shiawase-no-mura. At the venue, visitors can experience a variety of games, such as paper making, sports blowgun, kendama, stilts, frame spinning, and making paku-paku dolls.
The crafts and other activities will end when all materials are gone.
Shiawase-no-Mura is equipped not only with a vast lawn where the event will be held, but also a children’s playground, trim garden, Japanese garden, and various sports facilities, making it a great place for leisure activities during Golden Week.
The person in charge says, “The vast lawn square is a relaxing place for families and friends to spend a leisurely time together. We hope you will enjoy Children’s Day through intergenerational exchange in the verdant Shiawase-no-Mura.
<A word from the reporter>
With a variety of workshops and old-time games that even today’s children are strangely fascinated with, it will be hard to decide what to experience first.
