Mayuko Kanazawa Picture Book Original Drawing Exhibition” will be held at MANONOMA Gallery in Nagata-ku, Kobe from May 3 to June 4.
Original picture book exhibition by a local artist
Mayuko Kanazawa is a picture book artist living in Kobe City. She decided to hold the exhibition at her newly opened gallery in March this year in order to brighten up the lives of children and her hometown with the power of picture books.
Original pictures are all over the new gallery!
At the venue, original picture book drawings will be displayed on a mural in the café gallery, and visitors can enjoy animated storytelling on a giant monitor. A “picture book viewing space” will also be set up to encourage children to enrich their sensibilities and expressive abilities through exposure to reading and making things.
There will also be storytelling events.
On May 5, there will be a related workshop, “Let’s learn animation from its principles! Let’s move pictures with the Phenakistoscope! (limited to 6 people, 1,000 yen is required to participate). <(Capacity: 6 people, participation fee 1,000 yen).
The lineup is interesting not only for children who like picture books, but also for adults who can enjoy it!
