On May 27, “Fureai Chuo Carnival 2023” will be held at Minato no Mori Park (Kobe Earthquake Reconstruction Memorial Park) in Chuo Ward, Kobe City. Admission is free.
This is the ward residents’ version of the Kobe Festival, Kobe’s representative citizens’ participatory event. However, for the past several years, the event has been held on a reduced scale as an alternative event due to measures to prevent new coronavirus infection, and this will be the first time in four years that it will be held in its original form. The festival will be crowded with a variety of events, including a spectacular stage performance and an Anpanman photo spot where visitors can take commemorative photos.
The festival site will feature the “KOBE Pork Bun Summit®,” as well as the usual festival fare such as frankfurters and curry, and kitchen cars serving steak and rice, hamburgers, and other delicacies. There will also be a children’s corner where visitors can try on ethnic costumes, have picture books read to them, and play mini-games.
Visitors who fill out a web-based questionnaire will receive a seedling of the petunia, a popular flower for beginners because it grows quickly and is hardy. Up to the first 200 visitors.
