On May 20 and 24, “Gomafu Seals Whole Tour,” a paid experience, will be held at Kobe City Suma Seaside Aquarium in Suma Ward, Kobe City.
Experience to learn all about seals
The park, nicknamed “Sumasui,” is scheduled to close at the end of May this year due to a redevelopment project. In addition to an explanation of the ecology of largha seals, visitors will work with the zookeepers to separate the different types and quantities of fish food for each individual seal.
Other special events include signing autographs to “Mekabu,” a largha seal that has appeared on a stage adjacent to the seal pool, and enjoying a commemorative photo with the seal. The person in charge of the tour says, “We hope you will discover what they eat, what kind of life they lead, and discover the charm of the largha seals through this tour. <A word from the reporter>
It is not often that we get a chance to actually make food for the animals, even though we may visit them! This will be an opportunity to learn more about the animals and their lives.
