The “47th Kita Kita Festival” (Kita Ward, Kobe City) was held on May 20 for the first time in four years. The festival was also held to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Kita Ward administration, which will be celebrated on August 1 this year, and new experiments were made, such as setting up a corner where visitors could drive a “mini four-wheel drive” on the course.
I was also excited to enter the venue.
On the day of the event, Suzuran Park was packed with parents and local children! I will report on the event in this issue.
The event was a great success, as it was the first time it had been held in four years!
Food stalls offered yo-yo fishing, cotton candy, shaved ice, sponge cakes, goldfish scooping, and more. As I walked around, there were long lines at every booth!
Stores in Kita-ku line up
Stores from Kita Ward, which we have covered in the past, such as “Yuge Farm” and “FARM CIRCUS,” were also present. There was also a corner for hands-on activities such as milk carton crafts and bamboo crafts.
On this stage, local groups and children performed music, dance, and tai chi.

Then, as everyone had been waiting for, the exciting rock ‘n’ roll band “Watanabe Flower” appeared on stage! Looking around, every person has a smile on their face♪
The appearance of “Watanabe Flower,” a band group that performs mainly in Kobe, got the audience all excited!
They performed the theme song of the Kobe Festival, “Come to Kobe,” and as you can see, the crowd went wild! The author was so amused that he unintentionally shouted “Kuma-chan! I couldn’t help but shout “Kuma-chan! It was the first time in a while that the audience was allowed to speak out loud, and it seemed that their excitement had not abated.
Other events were also held at the venue, such as a corner where visitors could put on a bridge outfit and have their picture taken with a car!
Children were excited to see fire trucks, ambulances, and Self-Defense Force vehicles on display. It’s not often that you get to see them right in front of you!
According to the person in charge of the festival, “I have the impression that the number of visitors has increased considerably from before Corona. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the festival to the fullest. We are looking forward to next year’s festival.
