On July 2, Kobe Port Backyard Tour “Miyazaki Car Ferry Tour” will be held. Advance reservations are required, and the tour is open to first- through third-grade elementary school students living in the city.
Kobe City has been holding “Kobe Port Backyard Tour,” an event for elementary and junior high school students to see and experience port facilities, in order to familiarize them with “Minato” and to show them the charm of “Minato” from a child’s point of view. The first “Kobe Port Backyard Tour” this year was a tour of the Miyazaki Car Ferry. The tour will visit “Ferry Takachiho,” which celebrated its first anniversary this spring.
The “Ferry Takachiho” can accommodate 576 passengers and 163 trucks. At the event, visitors will learn about the features and roles of a car ferry that carries both people and vehicles, and will be able to tour the interior of the Ferry Takachiho, which is equipped with a variety of facilities that are not usually seen.
The person in charge says, “Why don’t you and your child explore the spacious interior of the ferry, which is just like a hotel? There is no charge for participation, so please feel free to join us. <A word from the reporter>
