Japanese Sweets Accented with Mochipuchi Texture Maruyanagi x Tokachi Anko

Daifuku” made from “Hyogo no Mochi Daifuku” using “Hyogo no Mochi Kirarimochi” grown in Kita-Harima will be available in limited quantities from June 15, 2012. It will be available at three stores: Seijiya Honten (Higashinada-ku, Kobe City), Tokachi Anko Sazae Honten (Nishinomiya City), and Tokachi Anko Sazae Daimaru Kobe Store (Chuo-ku, Kobe City).

Hyogo no Mochi Daifuku: 120 yen per piece (tax not included)

(Higashinada-ku, Kobe City), which operates the Maruyanagi brand of steamed, tsukudani, and boiled beans, and Sazae Foods (Nishinomiya City), which operates Tokachi Anko Sazae, jointly developed this sweet in the hopes of “energizing people and communities in Hyogo Prefecture with glutinous barley.

The rice cake portion of the Daifuku is mixed with grains of glutinous barley, creating a Daifuku with a pleasant appearance and texture.

The spokesperson said, “We hope that through this ‘Hyogo no Mochi Daifuku,’ people in Kato City and other areas in Kita-Harima will experience the delicious taste of glutinous grain Kirarimochi, and that it will help to spread awareness of glutinous grain as a healthy ingredient among the people of Hyogo Prefecture. Sales will end as soon as the planned quantity is reached.
