The “2022 Kobe City Fire Fighting New Year’s Ceremony” was broadcast live on the Internet using a drone so that as many citizens as possible could enjoy the ceremony.
At Meriken Park, the ceremony began with a performance by a music band, followed by a rescue drill from the site of a landslide disaster using heavy machinery and drones, and then by a simultaneous water discharge by firefighters from land and sea, accompanied by a Japanese drum performance by firefighters.
Four fireboats (from Osaka, Sakai, Himeji, and Kobe) discharged water simultaneously in blue, and three helicopters (from Hyogo Prefecture, Osaka, and Kobe) flew side by side over the venue for the finale.
