Awajiya Sannomiya Center-gai Store to Sell New Product “Vissel Meat Meal” in Advance!

On July 29, Awajiya, a box lunch shop based in Higashinada-ku, Kobe City, opened a new store in Kobe Sannomiya Center-gai (Chuo-ku, Kobe City)!

Awajiya’s stores are usually located in train stations, but the company decided to open a store in Kobe Sannomiya Center-gai, which is a high-traffic area, because “we want more people to buy and know us as a local Kobe food manufacturer.

The person in charge of the store also commented, “As the central city areas of various regions are lined with billboards of national chains, we believe that setting up a billboard in downtown Kobe with our own brand, which is rooted in Kobe, will give the city a “Kobe-like” atmosphere. The store is located in Sannomiya Center-gai, Kobe.

The Awajiya Sannomiya Center-gai store will offer a lineup of local products, including popular items such as “Hittaridako Meshi” and “Rokko-san Chousando bento” as well as “Hittaridako flowerpot” which went on sale on July 22, 2012.

In addition, “Vissel Meat Meal” collaborated with Vissel Kobe will be on sale at “Awajiya Sannomiya Center-gai Store” from the same day.

The original “Vissel Meat Meal” was first sold in 1965, and is a traditional delicacy consisting of thin slices of meat marinated in sauce spread on a bed of curry-flavored Valencia rice. This new specialty was developed by adding the popular sukiyaki-style beef stew to the thin slices of meat in the “NIKUMESHI” dish. It is sold in a special package that retains the texture of “NIKUMESHI” but is decorated with Vissel Kobe’s team colors and features Vissel Kobe’s mascot “Mauvie.

The timing of its availability at other stores is undecided at this time. It is also scheduled to be sold at the Awajiya store in Noevir Stadium Kobe on Vissel Kobe’s game days.
