The Kobe Citizens’ Art Exhibition began in 1974 and will be held for the 49th time this year. The purpose of the exhibition is to provide an opportunity and venue for the presentation of daily art activities and to further promote the culture of the citizens. It has become established as the “Spring City Exhibition,” and every year we receive many entries from people of all ages.
This year, the traveling exhibition of the 10th Nitten will be held at the Museum of Art Kobe and the Kobe Fashion Museum (Nitten Kobe), and the Kobe Citizens’ Art Exhibition will be held at Rokko Island, as in the previous year, in conjunction with the Nitten Kobe.

4. Exhibits
(1) Accepted Divisions
Seven divisions of Japanese-style painting, Western-style painting, sculpture, crafts, calligraphy, photography, and design (limited to one entry per person)
(2) Eligibility
Applicants must be at least 15 years old (excluding junior high school students) and live, work or study in Kobe City or its vicinity (must be able to bring in and out the exhibition on the designated date and time)

3,000 yen (no charge for those under 20 years old)

(Reference) Outline of the 10th Nitten Kobe Exhibition
This year marks the 116th anniversary of the Nitten, Japan’s largest public exhibition, since the first Bunten exhibition in 1907. Once again, the 10th Nitten (five sections: Japanese-style painting, Western-style painting, sculpture, craft art, and calligraphy) will be held at the National Art Center, Tokyo in November, and will then travel to Kyoto, Nagoya, Kobe, and Kanazawa. The traveling exhibition in Kobe will feature works by artists from Hyogo, Osaka, Nara, and Wakayama, in addition to the basic works from the Tokyo exhibition.
