AQUARIUM×ART átoa (Chuo-ku, Kobe) will hold a collaborative exhibition with NAMIKO, an artist fascinated by niboshi, entitled “Sparkling Niboshi” from January 12 to April 14, 2012.
The exhibition combines the world of fish painted with so many “niboshi” that they seem to fill the entire exhibition space, and the world of aquariums that seem to be floating in the sea.
A variety of related events will be held at the same time, including “Live Painting” on January 12, 13, and 14, where visitors will be able to see the powerful artwork created by “NAMIKO” being completed up close.
On January 13 and 14, a workshop will be held where visitors can make NAMIKO-designed deep-sea fish “Mendako” and “Same” hats. Even children can easily make them, so parents and children can participate. The workshop will be held from 11:00 to 13:00 and 15:00 to 17:00, and participants can join at any time during the workshop hours. Participation fee is 500 yen (tax included).
On January 14, from 1:00 p.m., NAMIKO and “Kawa-chan,” a fish mascot, will give a talk live performance. The talk will focus mainly on the theme of the completed live-painting works and the maniacal talk of these two creature-lovers.
