Rahmen Zundoya, Himeji’s thick tonkotsu ramen specialty restaurant, will hold its “Founding Festival” on April 4 at its stores nationwide. The popular “Motomi Ramen” will be offered at half price.

This year marks the 22nd year since the restaurant was established in Himeji. It has become a popular restaurant with branches all over Japan, boasting popularity for its pork bone soup, which takes more than 10 hours to cook using only water and pork bones, homemade noodles made from special flour that goes perfectly with the soup, half-boiled seasoned eggs prepared at the restaurant, and its signature pork chashu (pork cutlet).

Moto-mi Ramen

At the Founders’ Festival, you can enjoy “Genjyu Ramen” for the low price of 410 yen. The restaurant’s owner, Mr. Katsumoto, comments, “We hope you will take this opportunity to enjoy the one and only Himeji thick tonkotsu ramen, which features a thick soup made from pork bone broth cooked all at once in a large skillet, with no bitterness, and back fat added to the broth.

In addition, new spring dishes “Zundoya-style Chicken Hakyu” and “Yodare Chicken Donburi” will be available from April 1! The thick soup, which is layered with the umami of “chicken broth,” is combined with homemade flat noodles specially made for this ramen, and is served with chicken chashu pork and a melty, half-boiled ajitama. This item is not subject to the half price, but it would be nice to enjoy it together.
