On April 1, “Almost Crab Shrine,” dedicated to “Almost Crab,” was erected at the head office of Kanetetsu Delicatessen Foods (5 Nishi, Koyo-cho, Higashinada-ku, Kobe City).
The shrine was erected to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the release of “Almost Crab,” a crab-flavored fish paste sold by the company. The “Almost Crab Shrine” was created from a list of ideas based on the company’s stance of “making initiatives that employees themselves find interesting” and the desire to “help those in need” based on the enjoyment of this product even for consumers suffering from shellfish allergies.
The unveiling ceremony of the “Almost Crab” statue was attended by the company’s character “Tecchan. A priest from the Hon Sumiyoshi Shrine was also invited to the erection ceremony. On the fence between the shrine and the entrance to the head office, a total of 16 LINE stamps, which were distributed on the same day, were also displayed.
Mr. Takahiro Tokunaga of the company’s Marketing Department, who was in charge of planning the future shrine, said, “The ‘Almost’ series is designed to solve food-related problems. We hope that the shrine will provide an opportunity for people to share our philosophy. We also hope that the shrine will become a photo spot for visitors to Tecchan Kobo, our direct sales shop.
