The “British Fair 2023” will be held from April 10 to 16 at the 9th floor of the main building of Kobe Hankyu (Chuo-ku, Kobe).
This year’s theme is “The Charm of Handicrafts Inherited in the U.K.”. the theme of this year’s fair is “The charm of handcrafts passed down in the UK,” and will feature a collection of items overflowing with gentleness and warmth, including carefully handcrafted handicrafts, art, and carefully selected food items.
The most noteworthy items include delicate bobbin lace accessories and accessories by Jean Reeder, an embroidery and lace craftsman, and adorable stationery and sundries like those in children’s books illustrated by Chevaughn Harrison, a children’s book illustrator. and other arts and crafts that enrich our lives.
There will also be a wide range of other attractive British-inspired items such as household goods, interior decorations, and fashion items.
In addition, popular British gourmet foods and sweets, such as scones from the five-star “The Grove” hotel in London and fish and chips from the popular Northern Irish seafood restaurant “Fish City,” will also be on sale at the event. A tea stand and counter bar where visitors can enjoy tea and whisky, representative of British culture, will also be available.
During the same period, “Modern Classic Market” will be held on the patio stage on the second floor of the main building, introducing various “British” items through the filters of designers and artists.

The British Fair, which I visit every year, will be held again this year! Lace makers, illustrators, chefs, and pastry chefs who are active in the UK will be visiting Japan, so it may be a real pleasure to enjoy communication with the local people.
