On April 20 and 21, “TOMARIGI MARKET” was held at Hakutsuru Sake Brewery Museum (4 Sumiyoshiminamimachi, Higashinada-ku, Kobe).

The event was organized by “KOBE TOMARIGI,” an organization formed by local housewives in 2018. The group, which conducts community revitalization and social contribution activities in Nada Ward under the concept of “making life in Kobe a little richer,” holds this event on a regular basis with the aim of “bringing people together and promoting interaction between stores.
This is the first time the event has been held at the Hakutsuru Sake Brewery Museum. Rie Fukami, the representative of the Hakutsuru Sake Brewery, said, “We decided to hold this event here because we felt that Hakutsuru Sake Brewery has a long history and has always been rooted in people’s lives, and the organization has something in common with us, which wants to further its activities and become more familiar to everyone in the future.
On the day of the event, about 70 booths were set up on both days, including restaurants and handmade artists with ties to Kobe. Among the booths was the “Product Development Project by High School Students,” a project by local high school students to reduce food loss, and for the third event, under the supervision of “Kobe Franz,” three products were sold: “cut baum” and “stick baum” made from baumkuchen scraps, and “puff rusk” made from puff pastry skins that were to be discarded.
