On April 29, a new confectionery store, “Footpath Cakes,” opened in Fukuzumi, Tamba-Sasayama City.
A large cherry blossom tree welcomes customers at the entrance to this fashionable store, which was renovated from a former post office building.
The owner, Mr. Daiki Yoshida, is a talented pastry chef who worked at a pastry store in Amagasaki City for 11 years, including 7 years as a sous chef. After that, he studied service and desserts at a restaurant in Higashinada-ku, Kobe, before returning to his hometown of Tanba Sasayama.

Tamba Sasayama is depopulated, but on the other hand, good stores and tourists are increasing. He has been preparing to open a confectionary store with the hope of “having a positive impact on the local community himself.
The concept behind the store’s confectionery is “using good ingredients that are honestly delicious. The store is lined with freshly baked pastries, tins of sablé, eclairs, and other simple and rustic confections.

The building used to be a post office that many people relied on. I hope the building will be loved by many people as a confectionary shop.” Ms. Yoshida gave a present to our readers to commemorate the opening. Mention “I saw KissPRESS” and you will receive a small sable.
