Hydrangea Festival” at Sumiyoshi Shrine!

The “Hydrangea Festival” will be held in the precincts of “Sumiyoshi Shrine” in Nakao, Uozumi-cho, Akashi-shi. Hydrangea Festival” will be held on June 16, 2024 will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2024!

This annual event had been canceled since 2020 due to the spread of the new coronavirus, but has resumed since last year. As for the schedule of the dedication entertainment, information was posted on the official website of Sumiyoshi Shrine.

Flower News (Hydrangea)

There are several Sumiyoshi shrines in Akashi City, and one of them is located in Nakao, Uozumi-cho. The main deities are Soko-totsuno-no-mikoto, Naka-totsuno-no-mikoto, Omote-totsuno-no-mikoto, and Kicho-tamotsuki-no-mikoto. At Sumiyoshi Shrine in Nakao, Uozumi-cho, visitors can view approximately 2,500 hydrangeas of 20 varieties, which were planted by the shrine’s clergymen about 10 years ago!

There is a parking lot for visitors at Sumiyoshi Shrine, but public transportation is recommended during the hydrangea season!
