KOBE Bach Ensemble & Michio Kobayashi (harpsichord) Concert” will be held on June 13 at Kobe College Small Hall (Nishinomiya City), Hyogo Performing Arts Center.
The KOBE Bach Ensemble is an ensemble of musicians active in the Kansai region, formed in 2020, with the cooperation of 91-year-old Michio Kobayashi.
Mr. Michio Kobayashi is a legend in the classical music world who has accompanied many of the world’s top musicians and is highly regarded as a specialist in Bach performance, including being called Japan’s Gerald Moore (a world-class accompaniment pianist).
Baroque music has been dominated by ancient instruments, but violinist Kazumi Teranishi and violist Sun-Ming Lee will take a fresh look at the performance of Baroque music from the standpoint of modern instruments. In addition to annual subscription concerts, the group also holds chamber music concerts.
Familiar selections from famous Baroque composers such as Vivaldi and Handel are also featured. Tickets are on sale now.
<A word from the reporter>
It is a rare opportunity to hear Baroque music performed live. Also, with the legendary Mr. Kobayashi as the soloist, this is a rare concert.
