Kobe Port Backyard Tour “Miyazaki Car Ferry Tour” will be held for elementary and junior high school students in Kobe City on July 6, and applications are being accepted until June 14.
The “Miyazaki Car Ferry Onboard Tour,” which has been held since 2022, will be held for the fifth time. The Port and Harbor Bureau of Kobe City holds this event to familiarize visitors with the “Minato” area and to show the attractiveness of the area from the children’s point of view.
The tour will take place on the “Ferry Takachiho. After learning about the features and roles of a car ferry that transports both people and cars, visitors will tour the interior of the ship, which is normally not open to the public, with explanations.
The program is open to first- to third-grade elementary school students living in the city (elementary school students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian), with a maximum of three applicants per group (one parent or guardian per group). The number of applicants will be determined by lottery if there are too many applicants.
The person in charge of this project says, “This is one of the most popular backyard tours of the Port of Kobe, so please apply with all your heart.
<A word from the reporter>
I think this is a good opportunity for children who have never been on a ferry before. It would be great if they learn about the appeal of ferries and choose them as a means of transportation.
