Press Release (June 26, 2024)
Port and Harbor Bureau Promotion Division
Kobe City has been conducting “Kobe Port Backyard Tour”, an event for elementary and junior high school students to visit and experience port facilities, in order to help them learn about and become familiar with “Minato” and to show them the charm of “Minato” from children’s perspective.
The theme of this year’s third “Port of Kobe Backyard Tour” is “Close Contact: Container Logistics! Container Logistics. In order to learn about the logistics work that supports our daily lives, we will visit the Kobe College of Port and Harbor Studies, a school where students learn about work in the port industry. Visitors will try their hand at loading and unloading containers using the popular “gantry crane” simulator, just like the real thing. At the Kobe International Container Terminal, we will visit an actual logistics site. The sight of many containers and trucks coming and going is very impressive!
Participation is free of charge.
