On July 7, the “Tanabata Festival” will be held at Kobe University’s Rokkodai 1st Campus (2 Rokkodai-cho, Nada-ku, Kobe City). The event is organized by Kobe University Belkan (Rokkodai Student Council).
This event was planned for students and neighborhood residents. The Kobe University Belkan has held this event every summer since 2006 (Heisei 18), and this year will be the 19th time it has been held. Last year, despite the inclement weather, more than 2,000 people, including students from other universities, high school students, and families with children from the neighborhood, came to the event.
At the venue, a total of 12 groups will perform, including shaved ice, frankfurters, yakisoba noodles, and other food and beverage booths, live performances by student bands, and a special Tanabata Festival dance by the cheerleading squad. New events include workshops on stained glass and slime making, as well as participatory events for children on the stage. In addition, there will be a fireworks display and the unveiling of the event’s official character “Suteran.
Miyu Mori, the event planner, said, “We want to increase the number of Kobe University fans. We have many visitors dressed in yukata, so we hope they will enjoy wearing them again this year.
The event will be held from 14:00 to 21:00.
