Akashi children are the main characters! Children reporters of “Akashi Children’s Newspaper

On July 15, 2016 (tentative), “Akashi Kodomo Shinbun (Ak ashi Children’s Newspaper)” will be published to introduce Akashi’s attractions and history, with Akashi children as the main characters!

Akashi City is looking for elementary school students (5th-6th grade) living in Akashi City who will work as child reporters to write articles, take photos, and conduct other news gathering activities for the paper.

The number of applicants is about 8 (selected by lottery if there are too many applicants), and you can apply by filling out the application form and sending it to the Public Relations Division, Akashi City Policy Department by mail, fax, or e-mail.
The deadline is Sunday, May 16, 2016.

Last year there was an application period at this time as well! (Please note that some of the application requirements have changed!)

When I was in elementary school, I remember that I also longed to make newspapers. I guess it was partly because I always liked making things. The medium is different, but I’m doing something similar now, so I guess the essence hasn’t changed!

Eligibility

*Only those who meet all of the following conditions are eligible. The consent of a parent or guardian is always required!
1. 5th-6th grade elementary school students living in Akashi city
2. Interested in Akashi and reporting activities
3. Can participate on Saturdays and Sundays (about 2 times) from late May to early June.
