Tenjin Matsuri” will be held at “Tsunashiki Tenmangu Shrine” (Suma Ward, Kobe City) on July 24 and 25.
Tsunashiki Tenmangu Shrine is popularly known as “Suma no Tenjin-sama. Tenjin Matsuri” is held on July 25, the birthday of the god Sugawara Michizane, and the day before.
On both days, a Shinto priest will offer prayers for the fulfillment of one’s wishes three times, at 7:00 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 8:00 p.m. (first fee 1,000 yen). Participants will be presented with a fire stick.
From 5:00 p.m., 15 night stalls will be set up. In addition to stalls selling yakisoba (fried noodles), candied apples, hashimaki (sticky rice cakes), cotton candy, etc., honey, which is popular in Suma Rikyu Park, will also be sold.
