The “Kita Suzu Summer Festival ver1.5” will be held on July 28 at Kitayama Park (2 Koeidai, Kita-ku, Kobe) near Kita Suzurandai Station. The organizer of the festival is “Kita Suzu Land,” a community development company.
The event will be held as a “hybrid summer festival” combining local and commercial forces, with PTA and community groups opening stalls and restaurants setting up kitchen cars. The event will feature seven stores offering smart ball, super ball scooping, target shooting, etc., and five kitchen cars offering pizza, crepes, takoyaki, fried chicken, apple candy, and kushikatsu (skewered pork cutlets).
On July 27, the day before the event, a “Bring Your Own Fireworks Display” will be held. Although fireworks are banned in an increasing number of parks, “if each family brings their own fireworks and buckets, they can enjoy them,” according to the organizer.
Kazuhiro Fujii, representative of “Kitasuzu Land,” said, “We revived a local festival that had once been discontinued, so there were no neighborhood association fees or reserve funds, and it was difficult to create a participation method that did not place a financial burden on those who cooperated. We hope to make it a summer festival where the organizers have more fun than anyone else and the participants are full of smiles and laughter.
The festival will be held from 17:00 to 21:00. The festival will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and will be cancelled in case of inclement weather.
