ROKKO Mori no Oto Museum and Rokko Alpine Botanical Garden (Nada-ku, Kobe) will hold a special nighttime opening on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from September 21 to November 24 to hold “Hikari no Mori: Night Art Stroll,” where visitors can view night-only artworks and other artworks in a natural setting.
This event will be held as a related event to the contemporary art festival “Kobe Rokko Meets Art 2024 beyond,” which will be held from August 24 to November 24 on the Rokko Mountain in Kobe.
At SIKI Garden in ROKKO Morino Sound Museum, “Hikari no Mi” (Fruits of Light) in SIKI Garden by Masata Takahashi will be held.

Small LED lights are placed inside fruit bags with smiling faces painted on them and attached to trees to create a warm nightscape. This year, approximately 5,000 “Fruits of Light” will be exhibited in 2,500 pieces during different periods, with elementary and junior high school students from Kobe City participating in the production of each piece.
The “Kira★Kira★Kira Rally: Find the Night Paint,” a hands-on artwork that allows visitors to collect pieces of shimmering colors as they tour the park, will be held in five locations throughout the park! ~Visitors can enjoy a special performance of light and music (composed by mica bando) when they reach the goal point after visiting all five fountains of light in the park.
At the Rokko Alpine Botanical Garden, Miyuki Takenaka’s “Tiny Shadows” work incorporating light and shadow on transparent materials will be exhibited. The work, which reflects the pale shadows of plants on Mt. Rokko on positive 35mm film, a fading recording medium, has a fragile beauty and invites visitors to rediscover the small world around their feet, which they usually overlook.
A total of 17 other works by the above two main “Hikari no Mori” artists and others will color the venue in a special nighttime-only appearance.
On the day of “Hikari-no-mori – Night Art Stroll,” the “Forest Cafe” at the ROKKO Morino Sound Museum and the “Mountain Hut Cafe Edelweiss” at the Rokko Alpine Botanical Garden will be open until 19:00.
<A word from the reporter>
Special art appears that can only be seen at this time of the year. The Rokko Mountain will have a different look from the daytime, making it an even more enjoyable art experience!
