In line with the “Kobe City Nightscape Formation Implementation Plan (City Center/Waterfront Area)” formulated in FY2011, the City of Kobe is promoting themed light displays, such as the production of light that evokes the four seasons with an awareness of the images of spring, summer, fall, and winter, simultaneous light-up/down, timed light-up, and color changes with the passage of time, in cooperation with other light-up facilities. The lighting facilities cooperate with each other to create thematic light effects such as simultaneous light-up/down, time-differentiated light-up, and color changes according to the time of day.
KOBE Light-up Day” was launched in December 2013, with multiple light-up facilities collaborating to send out messages of light in accordance with the seasons of Kobe and to further enhance the nighttime scenery that is uniquely Kobe.
