The Ikuta Shrine (Chuo-ku, Kobe) will hold the “Autumn Grand Festival Event” from September 19 to 22.
Various artistic and cultural rituals and events will be held, including the “Ujiko Bongo Matsuri” (September 20), a ceremony to pray for the safety and prosperity of the Ujiko community of Kobe.
On the 19th, a special stage will be set up in the precincts of the shrine for the Ikuta Takigi Noh Play, featuring the Kyogen play “Fumiyamadachi” and the Noh play “Aoi no Ue. To see the Ikuta Takigi Noh Play, you need a “ticket for Noh performance” which is given at the Ikuta Shrine awarding office.
There will also be a dedicatory martial arts performance, a Gagaku (ancient Japanese court music) performance, and a performance by the professional string group “Super Strings Kobe”. On the 20th (17:00-22:00), 21st, and 22nd (12:00-22:00), food and beverage booths will be set up in the parking lot, and about 10 stores will be open.
