On September 23, “Old Private House Kotonoha” (Suma-ku, Kobe) will hold a disaster prevention event “Manabousai” and a “Bamboo Lantern Festival” utilizing a bamboo grove.
Manabosai” is an event where children and adults alike can enjoy learning about disaster prevention through a variety of hands-on experiences, including cooking disaster-resistant food and recipes (free of charge), a stamp rally for learning through games and experiences (registration required), and an exhibition of disaster prevention goods (free of charge).
The “Bamboo Lantern Festival” will be held in the adjacent bamboo grove starting at 4:30 p.m. After the lighting ceremony of the bamboo lantern corridor at 6:00 p.m., ocarina and Japanese drum performances will be held in the bamboo grove. Visitors can spend an autumn evening in a fantastic atmosphere, including the appearance of a “Bamboo Forest BAR” just for this day.
The organizer said, “We planned this event in the hope that it would provide an opportunity for families to think about disaster prevention. Also, the “Bamboo Lantern Festival,” which is a festival that recreates and utilizes abandoned bamboo groves, will allow visitors to relax and enjoy themselves in a fantastic atmosphere. Please come with your family.
As the venue is an old house in a residential area, we ask that you please be considerate of the residents in the neighborhood.
