People who possess advanced manufacturing techniques and skills that are accepted nationwide are called “Kobe Meisters. The “16th Kobe Meister Festival” will be held on October 12 at Motomachi Rokuchome Shopping Street (Chuo Ward, Kobe City), an event that allows visitors to feel close to the skills of these master craftsmen, of which Kobe is proud.
At the demonstration booths where visitors can see the skills of Japanese cuisine and pastry meisters in action, “Enchanting Fruit Cutting,” “Incorporating the Bounty of the Five Countries of Hyogo,” “Fun Icing Cookie Making for Children,” and “Making Confectionery You Can Make with Western Pastry Applications” will be presented.
At the hands-on space, visitors can try their hand at food coloring crafts using apples, persimmons, cucumbers, etc., create original Halloween napkin holders using felt, and make cute card holders and pocket tissue covers using a sewing machine. Each person will be required to spend about 15 minutes, and a participation fee of 300-500 yen is required.
In the exhibition corner, hanging scrolls, frames, and plaster works will be on display. In addition, Japanese sweets, bread, and wine will be sold.
The person in charge of the event commented, “The Kobe Meister and Kobe Agri-Meister will gather to showcase and introduce their excellent skills, providing an opportunity to widely promote the importance of craftsmanship, technology, and skills to the citizens of Kobe.
<A word from the reporter>
This is an event that both children and adults can enjoy together. Don’t miss the skills of the master craftsmen, which are not too much to say that they are works of art!
