Hiraiso Sea Fishing Park to Hold Children’s Fishing Tournament and Direct Sales of Live Fish for New Year’s Day

Hiraiso Sea Fishing Park (Tarumi Ward, Kobe City), which has fishing platforms stretching 1,400 meters east to west facing the Seto Inland Sea, will hold a “Christmas Children’s Fishing Contest” (December 22) for parents and children and a “New Year’s Live Fish Sale” (December 30 and 31) to sell lucky fish for the New Year.

The “Christmas Children’s Fishing Contest” for parents and children will be held for children between the ages of 6 and 15 years old to compete in the size of the fish they catch; any species of fish over 10 cm in length can be entered for free, and participants will receive a return ticket that can be used until the end of March 2025.

The park will also hold its annual “Live Fish for New Year’s Day Direct Sales” at the end of the year. This event is held every year to offer visitors the chance to enjoy seafood for New Year’s, a good omen, and to purchase fresh fish that can be caught on the spot. No fishing fee is required for those who participate only in the direct sales, and the sales end when the fish are sold out, depending on the species.
